If you are a middle leader in a school or even thinking about becoming one, this three-day bespoke leadership development program is for you.
Designed by prominent and highly respected author, Gavin Grift, participants will get the opportunity to chart their own leadership course through a deliberate focus on where and how they direct their thinking. They will be provided with many opportunities to view their leadership in fresh and insightful ways enabling a path forward full of promise and opportunity.
Based on Gavin Grift’s new book ‘Emerge’, participants will apply the self-knowledge gained from the program to move them closer to their own mission for leading. Participants will learn more about their ingrained dispositions, motivations, and physiological responses to help them grow their emotional intelligence when leading others. They will have potential blind spots illuminated and be encouraged to do something valuable with those as they come to view both problems and people as their greatest opportunity for growth.
Specifically, the following lines of inquiry will be explored:
- How might elevating our self-awareness assist us to lead with more clarity, purpose and poise?
- What has research taught us about self-awareness in the last twenty years and why should it matter to a leader?
- What might be some of the mental barriers associated with our leadership and how can they be overcome?
- What role does self-awareness play in shaping our identity as leaders and the subsequent influence, fulfillment, and impact we have?
- What practical approaches might I use to grow as a leader of both people and process?
This three-day action learning program is designed to support participants in applying their understandings in real and meaningful ways leading to greater fulfilment, impact and influence in their role.
All participants will become certified Grift Education Phase 1 Emerge Leaders (based on Gavin Grift’s published work, Emerge).
